ebenso seltenen wie wichtigen Quelle zur Geschichte des Dritten
Reiches. Diese Ausgabe war die letzte, die vollständig für das
Deutsche Reich erschien. Sie umfasst gut 2,6 Millionen
Pflichteinträge aller Telefonanschlussinhaber im damaligen
Reichsgebiet, d.h. sie enthält auch die Anschlüsse in den nach
1938 eingegliederten Gebieten wie dem Sudetenland und von
Österreich. Im Branchenteil (Band I) sind darüber hinaus
auch unzählige Firmen aus den besetzten Gebieten nachweisbar.
Arbeiten
wie in einem "klassischen" Buch, aber mit den Vorteilen
der digitalen Technik: Die Seiten erscheinen im Originallayout
auf dem Bildschirm, man kann Blättern usw. und zusätzlich den
Text des ganzen Werkes in Sekundenschnelle durchsuchen: Das
Faksimile des Reichs-Telefonbuches wurde mit einem
maschinengelesenen Volltext „hinterlegt“, d.h. Sie
können nach beliebigen Wörtern im gesamten Text suchen, so etwa
nach Namen, Berufen oder auch nach Straßen mit Hausnummern. Der
Phantasie bzw. dem Forschungsinteresse sind dabei keine Grenzen
gesetzt. Ebenso kann man einzelne Abschnitte kopieren und etwa in
MS Word einfügen oder aber die ganze Seite originalgetreu
ausdrucken.
Der
Adobe Acrobat Reader hat sich mittlerweile für diese spezielle
Art von Nachdrucken über Jahre bewährt, er gewährleistet
einfachste Bedienung auf jedem Rechnertyp und bietet ein hohes
Maß an Komfort, Stabilität und Darstellungsqualität.
Diese
DVD-ROM läuft auf jedem Rechner, auf dem Sie den Adobe Acrobat
Reader (möglichst ab Version 3.0, möglichst Pentium III oder
besser - wegen des immensen Datenvolumens von knapp 3 Gigabyte)

1942 DIGITAL FACSIMILE!
After
the good success of my other digital reprints for Adobe Acrobat
Reader I am offering now one the most important sources for the
genealogical searching and for the history of the “Third
Empire”: The Reichs-Telefonbuch, 44th
edition, Berlin 1942, 6,864 pages in 5 volumes on one DVD-ROM.
Digital facsimile for Adobe Acrobat Reader. This was the last
complete edition which was published before 1945. It contains ALL
telephone numbers with adresses and often the profession of the
owner. All organisations like NSDAP, RAD etc. are also included.
The phone book contains the WHOLE German Reich of 1942, i.e. also
with Austria/Ostmark, Sudetenland etc. Especially in the
“Yellow pages” (Vol. I) thousands of companies can be
found which were located in the Generalgouvernement or in Bohemia
and Moravia etc. This Reichs-Telefonbuch (phone book) is
so scarce that it is to be found only in very few german
libraries. It’s a very necessary handbook for everyone who
is interested in genealogy and german history.
Now
You can order a digital facsimile on DVD-ROM which will exactly
reproduce the printed edition. The facsimile is made for Adobe's
Acrobat Reader (program included on the DVD-ROM), a well known
program which is very comfortable and easy to use. The
facsimilated books can be used (on screen) like a normal
book: You can view one page after another, You can leaf through
the book and the complete text of the 6,864 pages can be SEARCHED
in and also it can be PRINTED from the DVD-ROM. It can be used on
every PC (win + mac) on which You can install the Adobe Acrobat
Reader. You can search EVERY word which is included in the DVD-ROM,
that means You can find the adress of Your relatives, anchestors
etc. But also You can search f.e. the street and house number and
maybe find with this the person who lived 1942 in Your
anchestor’s or relative’s house. But please mention:
This is only possible if the person had a phone, other adresses
are NOT included! It is not an adress book, but “only”
a phone book. But it contains about 2.6 Million adresses/phone
numbers - therefore it’s a good chance to get informations,
especially when the searched persons lived in a city or had a
business.
